The 2020 Film and Television Industry Investment Summit is scheduled to be held on May 20 at Wuxi Studios in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, according to local officials.

They said at a press conference on May 15 that it is the fourth time the city is hosting the summit, which aims to attract investment for film and television industry in Wuxi and discuss how to boost the development of the industry through consultations with related parties.

This year's event will again see the participation of representatives from industry management departments, industry associations, investment institutions, companies, producers, screenwriters, directors, film critics and actors.

They will discuss the future development of digital film and television in the 5G era and how to revive an industry battered by the COVID-19 pandemic, as the epidemic appears to wane.

The summit will hold events including one opening ceremony, roundtable dialogues, industry forums and a film night.

A number of new film and television projects are expected to go into production in Wuxi during the summit. Platforms and funds to promote the industry will also be launched at the event.

Located in Binhu district, Wuxi Studios features cutting-edge film technologies and officials say it is on its way to becoming an international digital film base, with the title "Huallywood" -- China's Hollywood.
