Enterprises which have resumed operations in Binhu district, Wuxi will have access to a steady supply of masks thanks to the efforts of the local government.

The district government partnered with a mask manufacturing company in Wuxi which promised to produce over 800,000 masks by Mar 20.

Masks are essential for companies looking to resume work while epidemic prevention and control efforts are still ongoing. Growing demand for masks has raised concerns over the low supply.

The district’s development and reform commission found on Feb 16 that Sinopharm Group Holding Wuxi Company is able to produce a large number of disposable surgical masks.

After verifying the company’s production license, the commission told the district’s association of industry and commerce to help increase the supply of masks.

Posted a public announcement on Feb 20 asking enterprises how many masks they need. Within a day, 350 enterprises requested a total of more than 800,000 masks.

Sinopharm Group Holding Wuxi Company has been producing enough masks to meet the daily needs of companies since Feb 24 and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.
