As 2020 approaches, red decorations have been placed around Binhu district in celebration of the New Year. Red is an auspicious color in Chinese culture.

Red lanterns can now be seen across Binhu district, and long corridors filled with red lanterns on commercial streets have helped create a festive atmosphere.

Popular tourist attractions in the district, including the Plum Garden, Rongxiang Ancient Town, and Lingshan Mountain, are also busy putting up red ornaments.

In addition, a kindergarten at the Hudai Center is displaying New Year artwork by children in its entrance hall, including gift boxes, posters with the Chinese character "Fu" (meaning good luck), and paintings.

Performances given by people in red Hanfu, a type of traditional Chinese clothing, in Meihu community have attracted a lot of attention as well.

Volunteers in red clothing have also helped put people in the right mood for the Chinese Lunar New Year by serving Laba porridge, a Chinese ceremonial porridge dish eaten on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the Chinese calendar.
