Wuxi's first KFC food truck debuted in the National Industrial Design Park in Binhu district on Dec 17, attracting many office workers to buy their breakfast.

The service time of the food truck is from 7:30 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday, according to Chen Yongjun, deputy director of the district's market supervision bureau.

"With this food truck, it won't matter if there is no time for me to have breakfast at home," said one customer, a worker in the park surnamed Zhu.

Zhu said purchases could be made with a scan of the QR code on the food truck. Or customers could use the KFC app to place an order earlier and collect their food without waiting.

The food truck is fully equipped with refrigerators, ovens and washing basins. It also uses innovative designs and technologies to connect external power and water.

Local officials said Binhu government has not only been introducing new things to serve residents, but has also made efforts ensure food safety.

The market supervision bureau's Chen said that Wuxi KFC Company, the operator of the food truck, should check its food and equipment safety regularly in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

A number of specific requirements were also listed to prevent risks. For example, the food truck should not process fried food on site.

The district's market supervision bureau issued the city's first business license for a food truck to Wuxi KFC Company and innovatively set the truck's license plate as the business address, taking its mobility into consideration.

Residents may meet the food truck at parks, exhibition areas and event venues. Chen said other market supervision bureaus will be responsible to regulate the business of the food truck when it drives to other districts.
