A nursing station in Binhu district announced on Dec 12 it will provide Internet Plus nursing services for local residents of Wuxi.

The station's Internet Plus nursing services enable families in Wuxi with disabled or semi-disabled elderly people to apply to have nurses from the station visit their home.

This is the first nursing station in Wuxi to offer such a service, and it will fill a crucial gap in the city's market for elderly home care services, said Yang Runian, deputy director of the city's health commission.

Patients can navigate the service menus displayed on an app and place an order using their mobile phones. Professional medical staff will then bring medical devices to their home to provide nursing services.

During the visit, nurses will record information about the patient's health and store it in an online system for the next visit.

Nurses who do home visits will record the entire nursing process so people in the station can observe via a live video and offer advice if necessary. This also guarantees that the entire nursing process can be traced.

The nursing station has 12 nurses with five years of working experience and can provide a wide range of services, such as dietary care, monitoring of vitals, oxygen inhalation, and wound dressing.

More medical institutions offering Internet Plus nursing services are expected to emerge in the city in the coming years.
