Residents of Meihu community in Wuxi's Binhu district are now able to obtain a temporary ID at a 24-hour all-in-one police service machine located at the community police station.

"It is the only such machine in Wuxi," said Xue Chao, a police officer who works in the community.

"People who lose their ID cards at night may find it hard to take trains or check into hotels. But now they can rely on temporary ID cards provided by the 24-hour machine."

The machine also offers services related to boarding passes, household registration certificates, criminal record certificates, kinship certificates, and changes in household registration.

The community police office is also equipped with other types of self-service machines that provide legal advice and offer visas. Police officers are available to teach residents how to use them.

Binhu is striving to improve police services by making use of the latest technology, and more service machines are expected to be introduced in police stations throughout the district.
