A group of foreigners visited Wanhe Rural Tourism Park in Binhu district, Wuxi on Nov 17, where they had the chance to try out a number of different activities.

They cooked on earth stoves, made Chinese knots, and dug up taros roots.

At a kitchen in the park, vegetables and other basic ingredients were prepared for visitors.

"This is our first time cooking Chinese food. First we need to burn the firewood in the stove here," said Laura Ward from South Africa.

The participants mainly consisted of families from South Korea. Children in traditional hanbok sang Korean and Chinese songs with their parents.

The park is a popular family destination, and most of activities are suitable for both adults and children, according to the organizer.

Foreigners found making Chinese knots "really hard" because of the many steps involved, but at the same time found themselves fascinated by the art form.

Rezaul from Bangladesh took several photos of himself holding the Chinese knots, enamored by their beauty.

Taro roots are a famous local food native to the area. The foreigners got a taste of farm life by digging up the taros with shovels and then soaking them in sweet water.

The trip to the park is the second part of the "Love in Wuxi" event organized by Wuxi Radio and TV Station. The organizers invited foreigners in Wuxi to experience local customs and appreciate nature.
