The 32nd Golden Rooster Awards – the mainland's most prestigious film awards – recently announced this year's nominated films.

Wuxi Studios, a national digital film industrial park, contributed to the shooting and post-processing of a number of nominated films.

Chinese sci-fi blockbuster The Wandering Earth, whose visual effects were produced by Wuxi Studios' special effects company More VFX, was nominated for five awards, including best art direction and best cinematography.

The Looming Storm and Operation Red Sea, produced by Wuxi Studios and praised by audiences, were also listed as nominees.

Dubbed “Huallywood”, Wuxi Studios is already home to 500 film companies and is striving to become an important part of the film and TV industry in China.

The award ceremony, sponsored by the China Film Association, will be held in Xiamen on Nov 23.
