Wuxi's Binhu district held its 2019 Cybersecurity Week on Sept 16-22 -- aiming to raise public awareness of the importance of fighting online threats and cyber attacks.

During the week-long event, a series of activities such as knowledge contests encouraged residents to learn more about cybersecurity and how to protect their personal information.

"Emerging technologies will bring new threats to cybersecurity, which requires joint efforts to safeguard network security," said Ni Shouhong, head of the district’s publicity department, at the launch ceremony on Sept 16.

The promotional activities were sponsored by the district’s cyberspace administration, internet association and communications carriers with the theme of "cybersecurity for the people and by the people".
