A series of activities that display the folk culture and art of Japan and Wuxi city of Jiangsu province were held in the city's Turtle Head Isle scenic area on March 27, which is part of the 2019 Wuxi International Cherry Blossom Festival, helping to promote the mutual understanding between Japanese and Wuxi people.

A delegation of Japanese people performed and explained the Japanese tea ceremony and played their traditional music in front of the audience. They also taught several visitors to play their traditional music instruments.

On the Wuxi side, some of the city's national intangible cultural heritages were introduced to the Japanese delegation, such as the unique local embroidery, clay figurines and opera.

"Wuxi is a beautiful city, and the people here are very kind," said Miyoshi Kanon, the 27th Cherry Blossom Princess of Japan.
