Wuxi releases details of 66 measures to serve Taiwan people

A total of 66 new measures were launched by the Wuxi government, Wuxi Daily reported on Nov 23.

The measures are made up of four parts: promoting the high-quality development of Taiwan-funded enterprises, deepening talent exchanges and cooperation, advancing integrated social and cultural development, and improving the study, entrepreneurial and living environment for Taiwan people in Wuxi.

The first part has a total of 24 articles. It emphasizes that Taiwan enterprises should be able to equally enjoy the industrial support policies issued by Wuxi and guides Taiwan-funded enterprises to implement localization strategies, supports the innovation development of existing Taiwan-funded enterprises and optimizes the business environment for them. The second part consists of 9 articles. Wuxi will further ease the access conditions for Taiwanese talents, attracting more high-level innovative talents from Taiwan.

The third part, with 14 articles, focuses on promoting a more integrated social and cultural environment. The government will provide more activities for Taiwan people, such as education, tourism and sports, in order to help them better integrate.

There are 19 articles in the fourth part, focusing on improving the ease of daily living, especially for permanent residents from Taiwan.

Wuxi will also make efforts to attract more investment and high-tech talents from Taiwan.

"Taiwan-funded companies and people are supposed to have the same treatment as their mainland counterparts in economic, social and cultural fields," said Xiang Jiang, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Wuxi.

To date, 2,334 Taiwan-funded projects have been approved by Wuxi. From January to September this year, 22 new Taiwan-funded projects achieved approval, a year-on-year increase of 37.5 percent.
