Binhu enjoys smooth IOT development

Binhu district in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, has enjoyed sound development in the Internet of Things (IOT) industry, according to a recent report of the district's bureau of economy and information technology.

During the first half of this year, the total revenue of the IOT industry and related businesses amounted to 9.85 billion yuan ($1.6 billion), a year-on-year increase of 23.4 percent. A total of 109 enterprises reached revenue of over 10 million yuan.

Since this year, the bureau has been focused on the construction of an IOT demonstration area through a series of promotion campaigns, attracting 62 new IOT and IOT-related enterprises, with a total registered capital exceeding 200 million yuan.

The IOT demonstration projects, "digital urban management", "intelligent transportation of Mashan International Holiday Island" and "Binhu intelligent tourism," also went smoothly. A total of 85 IOT projects applied for financial support at various levels, including two projects that applied for State-level funds of 30 million yuan.
