The Binhu district is in the southwestern part of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, covering 592.7 square kilometers with a land area of 262.5 sq km, along a 82-km section of the Taihu Lake’s shoreline.

It has four national parks -- Wuxi Taihu Lake Tourist Resort, Wuxi Industrial Design Park, Wuxi (Binhu) National Sensing Information Center, and Wuxi National Digital Filming Industrial Park – and three provincial development zones - Wuxi Liyuan, Taihu Shanshui City Tourist Resort and Wuxi Economic Development Zone.

The district is the key area of Wuxi, and in recent years has promoted its advanced manufacturing and strategic emerging industries and service sector in accordance with its development needs, with the focus on bio-medicine, the Internet of Things, design, screen culture, and software service outsourcing.

Binhu has attracted around 1,000 well-known enterprises, such as the IBM Cloud Computing Center, Intel China Center of Parallel Computing (ICCPC), iSoftStone, Wuxi AppTec, Wuxi Monoclonal Antibody, International Consortium of Stem Cell Research, and AVIC Engine, which will certainly raise industrial development level.
