Zhangjiagang has been working to advance the zero-carbon factory initiative as part of its efforts in carbon emission reduction , with five local companies recognized recently for their outstanding performance.
Among them, four companies were highlighted for their zero-carbon efforts: Hempel (Zhangjiagang) Coatings, Jiangsu GangTong Cable, Jiangsu Coigne New Energy Technology, and Zhangjiagang Teec Automobile Chemicals, according to the announcement by Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology. Additionally, Yigao Biochemical Technology (Zhangjiagang) Co was acknowledged for its near-zero carbon factory accomplishments.
Zero-carbon (near-zero carbon) factories are built on the foundation of green factories, implementing systematic greenhouse emission management through technological innovation to significantly reduce CO2 emissions. This initiative is crucial for accelerating the green transition in manufacturing, fostering new quality productive forces, and contributing to meeting the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
Zhangjiagang has been actively promoting industrial green transformation, leveraging policies and training to help enterprises maximize energy-saving and carbon-reduction potentials. To date, the city boasts 15 national-level, 33 provincial-level, and 51 municipal-level green factories, with six recognized as zero-carbon (near-zero carbon) factories.
