Zhangjiagang port handled 158,900 vessel trips and facilitated the safe movement of 142 million metric tons of cargo from January to July this year. During the period, foreign trade cargo throughput reached 42.3 million metric tons, up 3.13 percent year on year, while container throughput rose 5.29 percent to 707,700 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), marking growth in both foreign trade and container volumes.

Maritime authorities established a dynamic assessment mechanism for the entry and departure of large restricted vessels, scientifically optimized vessel traffic scheduling and opened dedicated green channels. These measures helped 1,960 large restricted vessels and 332 vessels of 150,000 tons or more enter and leave the port safely and efficiently in the first seven months of this year, supporting the continued release of the port's handling capacity.

Maritime authorities also ensured the transportation of more than 34.88 million tons of bulk commodities, including coal, grain and ore, providing strong waterborne transport support for local industrial development.
