The construction ceremony for Saesol semiconductor's research, development, and production project for core components of chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) equipment was held in Fenghuang town, Zhangjiagang, on May 20.
Saesol Diamond Industrial, a South Korean company, is a global leader in the diamond tools sector. The company maintains a dominant position worldwide in CMP diamond disks, supplying internationally renowned semiconductor giants such as Samsung, Intel, TSMC, and Micron Technology.
Saesol established Saesol New Materials Technology (Suzhou) in Fenghuang town with a total investment of $100 million. The project features an advanced R&D center and an intelligent production base, primarily for the production of diamond dressers for CMP pads.
Once operating at full capacity, the facility is expected to generate annual sales exceeding 500 million yuan ($73.48 million). The company also plans to ramp up investment in automated equipment, with the goal of reaching an annual production capacity of 400,000 units by next year.
