A signing ceremony for a new energy equipment core component production base project was held on Feb 7. This marks the first industrial project with an investment of 1 billion yuan ($144.70 million) signed in Zhangjiagang Metallurgical Industrial Park (Jinfeng town) this year.
The first phase of the base will focus on cutting-edge fields, including photovoltaics, hydrogen fuel, and optical films. Centered in Zhangjiagang, it plans to serve the entire Yangtze River Delta region, providing in-depth support to core clients across sectors like new energy, photovoltaics, consumer electronics, and engineering machinery. Upon reaching full production capacity, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of 600 million yuan.
In recent years, Zhangjiagang has accelerated the development of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry, with the aim of creating a 100-billion-yuan industrial cluster in this sector.
