The low-altitude economy in Zhangjiagang has been thriving in recent years, becoming a new growth pole for urban transformation and improving residents' livelihoods.
Over Shuangshan Island, intelligent patrol drones have become the newest "environmental sentinels". They patrol the riverbanks and tidal areas daily, precisely identifying water-related safety hazards, monitoring for fires, and assisting with emergency search and rescue operations.
Similar drone patrols have been extended to Zhangjiagang's emergency management and refined management practices, further safeguarding urban safety.
The low-altitude economy also offers tourists a novel experience. Shared drone kiosks have been introduced at locations such as Jiyang Lake Eco-Park and Xiangshan Mountain Scenic Area. Visitors can rent the devices by scanning a code, and then enjoy an immersive aerial view of the parks.
"The shared drones support various shooting modes, including photography, video recording, and panoramic views, enabling tourists to see the parks from multiple angles and meet diverse creative needs," said Zhou Xidong, the head of the shared drone project.
Zhangjiagang has also completed test flights for low-altitude routes, eventually making it possible to travel from Jiyang Lake to Shanghai within 20 minutes.
The combination of "low-altitude + manufacturing" further stimulates the industry's internal development. The firefighting drone developed by Zhuoshi Aviation can autonomously identify fire sources and easily ascend to any floor of a high-rise building, breaking through windows to reach the fire's core and extinguish it. It can carry a maximum load of 100 kilograms.

Their next-generation intelligent firefighting drones will feature advanced capabilities such as multi-drone coordination. Thanks to its core technological advantages, the company continues to receive a steady stream of orders, with annual orders expected to surpass 50 million yuan ($7.2 million) this year.
Zhangjiagang has currently attracted over 30 companies in the low-altitude economic industry chain, including Bairuikun Aerospace Material Technology, Jiangsu Tianpeng Power, and Suzhou Qihang Aviation Technology.
In the future, the city plans to continue enhancing the ecosystem of the low-altitude economy industry, further integrating technological innovation with application scenarios to empower urban development in more areas.
