Zhangjiagang sees booming consumption market this summer

The commercial, cultural and tourism sectors of Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu province experienced a continuous surge during the summer.
An array of activities catering to the diverse interests of tourists was on offer. One standout example was the educational programs launched by Yonglian Agricultural Farm, where students were given the opportunity to explore the countryside and get close with nature by tracing the tracks of insects.
Bolstered by these educational programs, the farm welcomed over 20,000 visitors this summer. Meanwhile, Yonglian Water Park managed to capture the attention of more than 80,000 visitors with its wealth of water-based attractions, making it a top choice for fun and entertainment.
From July 1 to Aug 24, data reveals that the municipal recreation and sports center for staff received over 80,000 people. The center's swimming facility proved particularly popular, attracting nearly 50,000 visitors. Additionally, the various sports courts welcomed more than 20,000 visitors, while the fitness center welcomed over 8,000.
As of Aug 25, the total box office revenue for the 2023 summer season soared to 32.79 million yuan ($4.5 million), with an impressive attendance of over 820,000 moviegoers.
