Intl tennis challenge in Zhangjiagang to showcase professional talent

The 2023 International Challenger is set to take place from Aug 27 to Sept 3 at the Zhangjiagang branch of the China Tennis Academy after a four-year hiatus.

 

This ATP Challenger Tour event has garnered registrations from professional players representing various countries including Australia, France, Lithuania, and Italy. The highest-ranked player among them is Watanuki Yosuke from Japan, who currently ranks 90th in the world.

The tournament features a singles pre-qualification with 24 draw slots, a singles main draw with 32 slots, and a doubles main draw with 16 slots. The total prize money for the event amounts to $80,000, with the champion walking away with 75 ATP points.

 

The ATP Challenger Tour, overseen by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), is an important series in the tennis world. This tournament is hosted by the Chinese Tennis Association and the Zhangjiagang government.
