The completion ceremony of the first phase of Jiangsu Sanjin Lithium Battery Technology Co Ltd was held in Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone on July 28.

Funded by Jiangsu Lopal Technology Co Ltd, the first phase of the 12.4-hectare factory was finished within just eight months. It is expected to produce 50,000 metric tons of high-nickel ternary precursors annually.

In recent years, Zhangjiagang has been actively promoting new energy as one of its major leading industries. The city has made significant strides in fostering an industrial cluster encompassing new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, hydrogen energy, liquefied natural gas, and other related fields. In 2022, the new energy industry witnessed a remarkable 50 percent growth in revenue.

The city has also nurtured a group of leading companies in the lithium battery sector, particularly focusing on cathode materials, electrolytes, small and medium-sized lithium batteries, and energy storage system solutions. This focused effort has resulted in the aggregation of prominent enterprises and a clear competitive advantage in the industry.
