China Railway Urban Construction Group East China Construction Co Ltd was unveiled in the Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province on May 15.

The East China Construction Co Ltd will expand its markets in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Shanghai, where it will focus on land development, urban renewal, industrial park construction, and infrastructure construction. It will also engage in sectors such as photovoltaic power generation and environment remediation to foster new growth drivers. The company plans to become the second 10-billion-yuan ($1.42-billion) construction company of China Railway Urban Construction within the next 5 years.

China Railway Urban Construction Group is affiliated with China Railway Construction Group Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. In 2014, China Railway Urban Construction Group started operating in Zhangjiagang.

At the ceremony, Han Wei, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said that the Zhangjiagang government will strive to provide a first-class business environment and services to encourage more enterprises to invest in the city.

"The investment environment, resource allocation, and services provided by Zhangjiagang are of high quality, which strengthens our determination to continue to develop here," said Shen Jingtao, chairman of China Railway Urban Construction Group.
