The inauguration ceremony of the Zhangjiagang Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment was held on April 12.
The association, approved by the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government, is a voluntary joint and non-profit social organization composed of enterprises founded by foreign investors, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan compatriots, as well as overseas Chinese. It currently has a total of 62 members.
The association aims to serve as a communication platform between the government and enterprises as well as among enterprises, promote business cooperation, advocate policies and regulations, help companies resolve difficulties, and facilitate foreign investment.
Foreign-invested enterprises are an important force driving the high-quality development of Zhangjiagang. To date, the city has 1,082 foreign-invested enterprises with a total investment of $34.2 billion. A number of multinational companies from countries and regions such as the United States, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macao have invested in Zhangjiagang.
