A delegation from Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, held an investment promotion conference in Zurich, Switzerland on April 18 local time.

Senior executives of several leading companies in Switzerland, including CSL Group, Schindler Group, and Komax, as well as representatives from trade associations and financial institutions attended the conference where they learned about Zhangjiagang's investment environment.

During the event, many companies expressed optimism about Zhangjiagang's business environment and investment policies. They also said they planned to visit the city for further investigation.

As an important economic and trade partner of Zhangjiagang, Switzerland boasts a number of strong industries, including machinery manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, high-end watches, food processing, and textiles, which provides broad cooperation opportunities with Zhangjiagang.

Prior to the conference, the delegation led by Cai Jianfeng, mayor of Zhangjiagang, visited two Swiss groups, Firmenich and Bertschi. Firmenich is an international company specializing in fragrances and established its production base in Zhangjiagang Bonded Zone in 2017.

Bertschi is a world-leading logistics company and its branch in Zhangjiagang, which represents the group's first investment in China, was completed and put into operation in January. Hans Bertschi, executive chairman of the group, said he hoped to maintain close partnerships with Zhangjiagang.
