Zhangjiagang scientist elected to CAMS

Fan Chunhai, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from Zhangjiagang and the dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was recently appointed to the Academic Advisory Committee of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
The committee, established in 2019, provides suggestions on key issues related to national medical and healthcare development.

Fan has made significant contributions to the fields of biosensors, DNA nanotechnology, DNA computing, and biophotonics. He developed the first RNA reference material for nucleic acid tests in the world and was elected as a fellow of several prestigious scientific organizations. He has also published over 400 papers in top scientific journals such as Nature and Science.
In 2021, he established a talent training workshop at his alma mater, Liangfeng Senior High School in Zhangjiagang, to help groom talents.
