Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, recently launched a series of new measures to attract talent.

On April 7, the Zhangjiagang base for the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest for Talents in Jiangsu was unveiled, becoming the first county-level base in the province. Zhangjiagang has since 2018 been holding such contests that have drawn more than 4,600 projects. Over 200 talents have started their careers in Zhangjiagang through these contests.

During the unveiling ceremony, high-tech development zones in Zhangjiagang, Changshu, and Taicang, three county-level cities in Suzhou, formed an alliance aimed at attracting talents to upgrade their emerging industries like intelligent manufacturing, new energy, and semiconductors.

Zhangjiagang has also cooperated with the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology as well as introduced eight policies to build a world-class development environment for talents and transform itself into a top destination for overseas returnees.

Zhangjiagang is currently home to over 410,000 talents, of which more than 40,000 are high-level talents.
