The 3.8-billion-yuan innovation port, which is an essential part of the Zhangjiagang Medical Equipment High-tech Industrial Park, is currently home to 15 leading companies in their respective fields, including Canhelp Genomics and Veminsyn.

Shi Lei, general manager of Suzhou MediCore Jinggang Technology Co Ltd, said the port will build an industrial chain that features a research and development center, a testing center, a public laboratory, as well as an investment and financing platform.

Zhang Qiao, vice-mayor of Suzhou, said that the innovation port is expected to attract more high-quality enterprises to Zhangjiagang and bolster the city's biomedicine industry.
