Zhangjiagang launches cultural tourism festival

The launch ceremony for the 2023 Zhangjiagang Cultural Tourism Consumption Season and the Fenghuang Peach Blossom Festival was held at Fenghuang town in Zhangjiagang on March 18.
During the event, the Zhangjiagang bureau of culture, sports, radio, television and tourism launched a rural weekend tour online platform which offers one-stop services including travel guidance, venue reservations, planning of customized routes, and purchasing local products, to improve tourists' experiences.
Chen Weibing, head of the publicity department of the CPC Zhangjiagang Municipal Committee, said in his speech that Fenghuang is a famous historical and cultural town in China and that listening to folk songs, soaking in hot springs, admiring peach blossoms, and strolling through ancient streets have become must-dos for visitors to the town.
Chen added that Zhangjiagang will hold more than 40 cultural tourism activities this year to promote Zhangjiagang as a rural tourism destination in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The Zhangjiagang bureau of commerce and the city's catering association will organize a series of activities and invite popular restaurants to showcase their delicacies to promote traditional food culture.
At the event, several local restaurants at Fenghuang formed an alliance to further improve their services for customers.
A promotional video about the spring scenery of the city was also released.
