Jamy, who comes from Michigan, the United States and has been living in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province for 16 years, received a pennant from his community on March 6 for his donation of recreational facilities.

In October 2022, Jamy and his wife offered to renew the recreational facilities in the community's playground that had gotten too old to be used. With their funding, a renovation project was carried out two months later and a new playground with more features like rocking horses and slides is now open to the public.

"I think we are all obliged to give back to the society," said Jamy. "The elderly and children are two groups we should care for the most, and I'm glad to see residents in the community enjoy the new playground."
