The cultural and tourism market in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, experienced a strong rebound during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, which ended on Jan 27.

Scenic spots and cultural venues received more than 240,000 tourists during the holiday. The Xiangshan Mountain scenic area, which was free to enter and held a variety of activities themed around the Year of the Rabbit, had received 25,000 visitors as of 11:00 am on Jan 27.

Other attractions, including the Suzhou Jiangnan Farming Cultural Park, Tianzhuang Ancient Street, and Jiyang Lake Happy World, also organized festive activities such as guessing lantern riddles and playing family games.

Cultural venues in Zhangjiagang held a total of 246 activities during the holiday. For example, the Zhangjiagang Museum invited visitors to create woodcutting and paper cutting works.

More than 240,000 people in the city went to the cinemas during the holiday, resulting in box office earnings of over 12 million yuan ($1.77 million).
