Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, held a cultural activity on Jan 16 to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival, which falls on Jan 22 this year.

Six members of the Zhangjiagang Calligraphers Association were invited to write Spring Festival couplets and the Chinese character "福" (pronounced "fu", meaning "good fortune") for local residents.

Several writers also autographed and gave away copies of their books to participants, and people got an opportunity to experience engraving as well.
