Four tourist attractions in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, will be opened to the public for free during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday which starts on Jan 21, according to the Suzhou municipal bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism.

Among them is the Fenghuang Mountain scenic area located in Fenghuang town. The national 4A-level scenic spot features the Heyang Folk Song Museum, Tianzhuang Ancient Street, and a village named Xiaojiaxiang, which is famous for its intangible cultural heritage.

Another attraction, the Xiangshan Mountain scenic area, features beautiful mountain and lake views and a host of tree types like plum trees, cherry blossom trees and peach trees. Su Shi, a renowned poet of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and Xu Xiake, a famous travel writer and geographer from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), visited the Xiangshan Mountain many times and wrote poems about the mountain.

The Jiyang Lake Ecological Park is a man-made wetland, while the Dongduyuan scenic area was built to commemorate Jianzhen, a Chinese monk from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) who had sailed to Japan to promote Buddhism.
