The first and 15th days of every lunar month are when people flock to the market at Changfeng village, Daxin town, Zhangjiagang.

On these days, the 100-meter country road near the Shuangxing Temple is always crowded with vendors and residents.

As the Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan 22 this year, approaches, many festive supplies including Spring Festival couplets are on sale.

The street fair has a history of more than 200 years and was originally a temple fair held by the Shuangxing Temple.
