Yunshuiyao, an original Wuxi Opera produced by the Zhangjiagang Wuxi Opera Art Center in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu province, recently won an award presented by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

Yunshuiyao tells a touching story about Wang Jicai, a Chinese hero who took on the mission to guard Kaishan Island in Guanyun county, Lianyungang, and stood fast at his post for 32 years despite the solitude.

The opera has won many honors such as the Best Opera in Zijin Culture and Art Festival.

Yunhaiyao, a movie adapted from the opera, is currently in production.
