Visual art biennial kicks off in Zhangjiagang

The opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the Zhangjiagang Visual Art Biennial of Primary and Secondary Schools' Art Teachers was held in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 2, local media reported.


The biennial features 289 paintings and 69 calligraphy works created by art teachers from Zhangjiagang's primary and secondary schools.


The event aims to present the art achievements of art teachers in the city and encourage them to improve their professional skills.


During the opening ceremony, 92 paintings and 32 calligraphy works were awarded with prizes.


The exhibition will last until the end of this month, according to the organizer of the exhibition.
