Fengxiang residential community located in Fenix town in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, recently finished reconstructing natural gas pipelines.

The move means that the residents of Fengxiang residential community have finally bid farewell to bottled gas and can now use natural gas, which is environmentally friendly, safe, and convenient.

This year, Zhangjiagang plans to reconstruct natural gas pipelines in 15 old residential communities, covering 5,500 households.

It plans to renovate the natural gas pipelines in 5,000 - 6,000 households every year, said Zhou Rong, manager of the engineering management department of Zhangjiagang Towngas Co Ltd.

More than 3,600 households in nine residential communities in Zhangjiagang are currently equipped with natural gas pipelines. The reconstruction projects in the remaining six residential areas are being promoted.

Over the past decade, the number of households equipped with natural gas pipelines in old residential communities in the city has risen to 65,000.
