Zhangjiagang has over the past decade established seven smart fitness facilities, five fitness runways and 11 smart facilities for plaza dancing. An application that allows people to make reservations at large-scale sports venues in the city has also been launched.

All public large-scale sports venues in Zhangjiagang are now open free to people during 14 festivals. These venues are also free to use for all students, seniors, people with disabilities and soldiers any time of the year.

To date, the proportion of people who regularly take part in physical exercise in the city has reached 58.26 percent.

The development of sports clubs and associations in Zhangjiagang has also been improved. Today, the city has 34 municipal-level sports associations and 53 municipal-level private sports clubs.

Zhangjiagang has also made efforts in organizing sports activities during the different seasons, such as marathons in spring and dragon boat races in summer, to improve the diversity of fitness activities.
