Zhangjiagang makes strides in culture and sports industries

Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has been boosting the high-quality development of the culture, tourism, and sports industries over the past decade.
There are currently over 4,300 enterprises involved in the culture and sports industries with a total turnover of more than 100 billion yuan ($13.8 billion) in the city. The added value of the culture and sports industries accounts for more than 6 percent of the city's GDP.
In the past decade, Zhangjiagang has invested more than 90 million yuan to support 339 projects in the culture and sports industries. Among them, 15 projects made the list of key projects of Jiangsu province and Suzhou city.
In 2022, Zhangjiagang has started construction on 30 key cultural projects, with a total investment of 11.9 billion yuan.
Due to efforts to attract investment, the city has formed industrial chains for digital culture and sports equipment manufacturing.
Today, Zhangjiagang has one national, one provincial and three municipal cultural industrial parks.
In 2021, the city made the first list of Jiangsu pilot zones for sports consumption.
