An exhibition of historical relics unearthed from ruins along the Yangtze River will be held at the Zhangjiagang Museum in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, from Aug 28 to Nov 27.
Titled "The Yangtze River Civilization from Archaeology", the exhibition is organized by China Cultural Relics News, the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government, and the Suzhou bureau of culture, television, radio and tourism.
Focused on archaeological findings from the past decade, the exhibition will feature 156 relics, 19 of which are of the top class. The exhibits were discovered from ruins such as the Jinsha Site in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province, and the tomb of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province.
Among the relics are several that have been restored by experts. These include a crown of Empress Xiao, the wife of Emperor Yang, as well as a terracotta jester and a loom that dates back to the Han Dynasty (206BC-220).
