Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, opened a new reading room on July 25 near Shazhou Lake.

Named "Yuanshufang", the space features more than 5,000 books that were donated by the public. It also has sections for people to have soft drinks, hold salons, and buy creative cultural products.

A series of cultural activities will be held in the space to promote reading among local residents.
