The bureau of culture, sport, radio, television and tourism of Zhangjiagang in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province is holding a cultural creative product design competition in an effort to boost the integrated development of the cultural and tourism sectors, as well as related consumption.

Participants are required to make designs based on the city's culture or intangible cultural heritage items such as traditional techniques and opera. They can also design packaging for Zhangjiagang's local agricultural and sideline products or handicrafts.

The contest's organizing committee will accept submissions until March 20 and select 50 works to advance to the finals by April 7. From April 8-15, online voters and an expert panel will decide the 30 winners, who will be notified and must make samples of their work by the end of April.

In early May, winners will receive their prize money and an online exhibition of their works will be held. The first-place winner will receive 20,000 yuan ($3167.81), the two second-place winners will receive 10,000 yuan and the six third-place winners will receive 5,000 yuan. The rest of the winners will receive 2,000 yuan.
