A signing ceremony for a comprehensive development project in Leyu town, Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province was held on Jan 24.

The project occupies an area of about 1.2 million square meters and received 5 billion yuan ($786.1 million) in investment from China Railway Construction Kunlun Investment Group, China Railway Urban Construction Group, and China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group.

The investors will cooperate on sightseeing and agricultural tourism projects, road construction, landscape engineering, as well as other tasks for the comprehensive development project.

The project is expected to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the city, said Shen Jingtao, president of China Railway Urban Construction Group. The company will provide the best possible services and sufficient resources for the project, he added.

Han Wei, Party chief of Zhangjiagang, said the local government will continue its efforts to improve administrative services to ensure the success of the project.
