Two railways passing Zhangjiagang to be constructed in 2022

Construction on two railways that pass through Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province will start in 2022, local media outlets reported.


The Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway has a length of 310.4 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 km/h. Ten train stations will be set up along the railway, including Nantong West Station, Zhangjiagang, Suzhou North Station, Jiaxing North Station, and Cixi. The Zhangjiagang section of the railway is 31.7 km in length.


The second phase of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway starts from Taicang in Jiangsu and ends in the Fengxian district of Shanghai. It is expected to be completed in five years and has a length of 106.79 km and a designed speed of 200 km/h.


The second phase of the railway will allow Zhangjiagang residents to travel to Shanghai East Railway Station directly and the Shanghai Pudong Airport more conveniently.
