The closing ceremony of the 2021 Yangtze River Culture Festival was held online on Dec 22, concluding the month-long celebration of the splendor and prosperity of the culture along the Yangtze River.

Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province worked with 13 provinces, districts and cities along the Yangtze River to ensure the festival was successful.

Activities revolving around cultural relics, intangible cultural heritage items, opera, and cultural tourism were organized to showcase the development achievements of Jiangsu and the construction progress of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Highlights included the 7th International Humor Art Festival, excellent theatrical performances in the Yangtze River Basin, and an art exhibition based on intangible cultural heritage items along the Yangtze River.

This year's festival was held both online and offline, and hashtags related to the event attracted more than 200 million clicks on Chinese social media.

The Yangtze River Cultural Summit Think Tank was inaugurated at the closing ceremony. Fifteen experts and scholars specializing in Yangtze River culture attended, and they pledged to continue working to protect and preserve Chinese culture.

Zhangjiagang has been holding Yangtze River cultural activities for the past 18 years, with significant efforts made to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning of Yangtze River culture.
