Two athletes from Zhangjiagang win medals at National Games

Two athletes from Zhangjiagang, East China's Jiangsu province, won a gold medal and a bronze medal at the 14th National Games on Sept 13.


Miao Yuhang won the Cycling Track-Men's Madison race with his partner Guo Liang.



Born in 2000, Miao started cycling training in 2015. In April this year, he won a gold medal in the Cycling Track-Men's Madison race at the 2021 China Track Cycling League finals.

Another athlete from the city, Sheng Lihao, won the bronze medal with his partner Zhang Yu in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Team competition.


 

Sheng, born in 2004, has won many championships, including the 19th Sports Games of Jiangsu Province, the 2nd National Youth Games, and the National Shooting finals in 2019. At the recently concluded Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Sheng pocketed a silver medal in the Men's 10m Air Rifle.

 

Inaugurated in 1959, the National Games is billed as China's mini-Olympics and features 410 events across 35 sports for professional athletes.
