Zhangjiagang moves to develop hydrogen port

Four companies signed a cooperative agreement on Sept 1 in Zhangjiagang – a county-level city administered by Suzhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – to jointly help pave the way for the metropolis to develop a hydrogen port.
The companies present at the signing ceremony were Jiangsu Huachang Chemical Co Ltd, Gangcheng Automobile Transportation Group, King Long Motor Group and Sinotrans Limited.

Under the agreement, the four companies will carry out research and development into heavy truck engine hydrogen fuel cells, as well as into vehicle integrations and fuel cell heavy truck applications.
Jiangsu Huachang Chemical Co Ltd will reportedly partner with Gangcheng Automobile Transportation Group and King Long Motor Group to set up a logistics enterprise.
This will mainly engage in hydrogen fuel applications in heavy trucks.

In recent years, Zhangjiagang has identified the development of the hydrogen energy sector as an important part of its construction of a modern industrial system.
In the process, it has attracted more than 30 hydrogen-related enterprises in the key areas of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, as well as hydrogen fuel cells and components manufacturing.
