Sheng Lihao, who was born in Zhangjiagang, competed in the men's 10-meter air rifle finals and claimed the silver medal for the event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan on July 25.

Sheng shot for a total of 250.9 points, including a 10.8-point final shot.

William Shaner from the United States won gold in the event with a new Olympic record of 251.6 points, while Yang Haoran from China claimed bronze.

In the men's 10m air rifle qualifications, which ended at noon on July 25, Sheng scored a total of 629.2 points, ranking eighth and qualifying for the finals.

Born in December 2004 in Yangshe town, Zhangjiagang, Sheng qualified for the Tokyo Olympics at the finals of the men's 10m air rifle trials of the National Rifle shooting team in March.

Sheng showed intense discipline and dedication in his training. He started learning to shoot in 2017, but at that time, the four-kilogram Olympic-standard gun was too heavy for him, a young and thin boy. He began to strengthen himself through a strict training regimen that included sit-ups, push-ups, planks, and running.

He has claimed gold in a number of competitions, including the 19th Sports Games of Jiangsu Province in 2018 and the men's air rifle competition in the 2nd National Youth Games.

Sheng will compete in the 10m air rifle mixed team finals at 2:30 pm on July 27.
