Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province held a promotion conference for high-quality development of its cultural industry on June 19, with 16 key cultural and tourism industry projects signed on site.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Zhangjiagang will focus on key industries including software animation and creative design. Efforts will be made to attract leading projects, so as to build cultural industrial parks with core competitiveness as well as to enhance regional carrying capacity of the city.
At the same time, Zhangjiagang will actively cultivate new cultural industries, including consumption of digital cultural tourism, digital industrial design, and digital transformation of handicrafts.
The city will also connect with leading cultural enterprises from home and abroad, as well as encourage and support the development and growth of medium, small and micro-sized cultural enterprises.
At the meeting, Zhangjiagang signed cooperation agreements with USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry, Meridian Capital China, and other enterprises, covering fields like digital culture, creative design, as well as cultural and tourism integration, with a total contract amount of 11 billion yuan ($1.7 billion).
Zhangjiagang will comprehensively integrate resources to establish a cultural tourism group and development guidance fund, so as to continuously improve the level of cultural investment and project construction.
A number of representative projects like Baidu and Tongcheng have settled in the city and increased their cultural investment, with the total construction investment of more than ten billion yuan.
