Zhangjiagang lays out scientific innovation carriers

Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province held a development conference on the incubation of scientific innovation projects on June 17, aiming to create an industrial incubation center for the Yangtze River Delta region.
At the conference, Zhangjiagang officially released construction and development plans for the incubation of scientific innovation projects during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. Several innovative centers in Zhangjiagang were unveiled and agreements for 15 technological innovation projects were signed on-site.
Pan Guoqiang, Party chief of Zhangjiagang, said that the city has taken advantage of the momentum to pursue innovation. More than 2.6 million square meters of innovative landmarks will be built.
“Zhangjiagang proposed creating science and technology incubation carriers, including eight industrial chains. In 2021, construction began on 1.16 million square meters of such incubation areas in an effort to create a high-level technology and innovation carrier for Zhangjiagang," said by Guo Liping, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu province.
In recent years, Zhangjiagang has been focusing on innovative transformation and upgrading. The city has also formed an innovation carrier matrix consisting of 17 new R&D institutions and 37 provincial incubation carriers.
