The bonded zone in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province marked the start and completion of major projects for the second quarter of the year at a ceremony that was held on June 9.

The 23 projects cover fields like new materials, new energy, modern logistics, and semiconductors, and receive a total investment of 15.09 billion yuan ($2.36 billion).

Pan Guoqiang, Party chief of Zhangjiagang, said at the ceremony that the major projects of the bonded zone in the second quarter of the year will create a key industrial chain and a modern economic system for Zhangjiagang, as well as inject strong vitality to the city’s economic development.

Pan added that the Fengbei bio-environmental new materials project and its application research institute will provide the green development industry with systematic solutions. It will also provide industrial and technical support for Zhangjiagang to reach its carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.

"The government will always be the 'shopkeeper' in the construction of the projects, adhering to the service concept and striving to build the most comfortable business service brand. We hope that more high-quality enterprises will invest and start business in Zhangjiagang," said Pan.
